Republic Urban Nest

As we  enter the new year and with a week into the academic year at the University of Pretoria, there is an influx of students and with this influx, the number of student accommodation residents has increased. The increase in student residents will help accommodate most students who don’t make it into university residences, especially first year students who usually find the first year very daunting.

If you are a student and you  are still struggling with accommodation, here are a few options around Hatfield campus. It is easy to register on the interactive websites of some of the residents and  also to view.

Under the Respublica Student Living group we have Eastwood Village, Hatfield Square and Urban Nest. Both Urban Nest and Eastwood Village are found on Arcadia Street, a distance from the university and  they offer a bus service included in the rent.

Hatfield offers suitable accommodation for students

Hatfield Square is the closer option, however, as they are still building, space is limited. The price range differs at every residence, Urban Nest ranges from R3450 – R4700, Eastwood Village R3800 – R6200 and Hatfield Square R4300 – R6550.

There is also TMM Lofts (Concord Lofts) on 976 Park Street, unfortunately it is fully occupied but students can get on the waiting list and they will keep in contact with you. Their prices range from R2950 to R3200.

There is also Studios @ Burnett found on Burnett Street and they offer a variety of services and the price ranges from, R2950 to R4850 depending on the room type chosen.

Under Midcity Properties, there is Festival’s Edge, found on Festival (I don’t think you will miss it, it is the colourful building). They also just opened their doors this year and students can view their rooms.

Duncan Court on 1236 Park Street was built for both students and young professionals so if you’re looking for something that looks less like a residence and more like a flat, it is the place to be.
