The University has won the preliminary leg of the annual Baja competition held at the Gerotek testing facility outside Tshwane. This race is a forerunner to the annual competition in September.
The Faculty of Engineering and the Built Environment was the only team that managed to pass all the safety tests and inspections.
All the hard work was done by senior Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics students who took about 10 months to build the cars.
