The University Of Johannesburg (UJ) together with Transport Education Training Authority (TETA) will this year stage the annual walk/run in Johannesburg on 20 May 2017 to again help students with funds.
The UJ is using this fund raising to assist deserving under privileged students with bursaries and this year it will also be extended to cover the so called missing middle class of students.
In 2015 when the fund raising was started, UJ managed to cover nearly 4000 students after raising about R1 million rands.
Kholofelo Motjatji, deputy chairperson of the SRC, said last year they could not raise money due to the nation-wide strikes but they hoped to raise more funds this year and assist more students.
