Minister of Small Business Development, Ms Lindiwe Zulu, launched a Centre for Entrepreneurship at Goldfields TVET College in Welkom on Friday, 21 April 2017.
This programme is partly a response to the challenge of youth unemployment. This Centre of Entrepreneurship will provide appropriate support to young people at the early stage of the entrepreneurial journey, including training on entrepreneurship, mentorship and networking.
The Minister said the department is determined to promote an entrepreneurship culture and encourage students to create their own businesses.
She said centres for entrepreneurship seek to promote entrepreneurship as a career of choice and thus advance the department’s objective of building a nation of entrepreneurs.
