TUT Students about to board a bus where they say they are being robbed in the process

Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) students alleged that they are being mugged while queuing to take buses from Arcadia Campus to the Soshanguve campus.

TUT students said the pushing and shoving while boarding buses in Acadia Pretoria is due to shortages of buses and this has exposed them to opportunist who take the chance to rob them of their belongings.

“The people who rob us wear nice clothes and do not look suspicious at all.

“I have lost a  tablet to them which they stole from my bag while we were trying to board a bus,”  said one of the students, Ms Bonolo Mntungwa.

One suspect was caught by students recently after students searched everyone at Arcadia campus bus terminal but the suspects managed to escape.

Students are mostly robbed of cellphones, tablets , wallets , watches , bags and money.

Students were warned to be vigilant at all times and keep their cellphones and wallets in their zipped bags at all times to avoid being mugged.
