The Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Director of Sports and Recreation, Mr Shadrack Nthangeni, has been elected to the University Sports South Africa (USSA) Financial and Marketing Officers at the annual meeting of the USSA held recently at Stellenbosch University.
Mr Nthangeni was elected in favor of the outgoing president of USSA, Mr Tyrone Pretorius, who has been at the helm since 2013. Mr Nthangeni was also appointed as Deputy Chief of the Mission for team SA to represent the country during the world student games to be held in Taipei in August 2017.
“I am indeed humbled by this opportunity to serve USSA, the task bestowed on me came at the time when the country is going through difficult times, “said Mr Nthangeni, speaking at an event held at the TUT Pretoria West Campus.
“I believe that the collectively leadership will ensure that the organization continues to grow in the next three years and ensure students development in athletics, “he said.
